How to Hook Up a Home Theater System

!±8± How to Hook Up a Home Theater System

If you are starring at the home theater system you got when you bought your TV and are wondering if it is worth the hassle to set it all up; the answer is yes. It will give you 10 times the sound quality you would get from using the speakers that are built into your TV and is not that hard to do with most newer TVs.

The hardest part of the whole process will be trying to hide your speaker wires. I am being serious. Sometimes that can be a real hassle when you are trying to get your speakers situated behind your couch.

You are most likely thinking about how you are going to run all of the cables to the back of your home theater receiver in order to get sound for all of your different devices, cd player, dvd player, tv and so on. This can all be avoided and make life a lot easier if you check the back or your TV for an audio out. If you have any audio out all you will need to do is take your red and white RCA cables and plug them from your audio out on your TV to the input on your new receiver.

If you have done this correctly you should not have to touch any of your current setup. All of your other devices that you already have running to your TV do not need to be touched because all sound no matter what will be sent into your TV then back out using the audio out. This saves you from having to change any of your existing setup.

Now go into your TV setup menu and to the audio menu and make sure you TV is set to external so that your receiver is receiving the sound signal from your TV. Once that is done you should be listening to sound through your new surround sound system and it should not have taken longer than 5 minutes.

Bose PC Speakers: A Review of the Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System

!±8± Bose PC Speakers: A Review of the Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System

A lot of people enjoy using computers for many leisurely and recreational activities such as playing games, listening to music, watching movies, and browsing the internet. One of the good additions you should always get for your PC is a speaker system, especially if you are fond of watching movies and playing music on it. If you're looking for a nice pair of speakers for your PC, a lot of Bose PC speakers are available in the market and you can definitely get the best value out of these devices. The Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System is one of the best models that the company has to offer. Here is an in-depth review of the product.

General Description

Computer speakers should be small enough to fit the desktop or computer table, and no one wants to have a set of computer speakers that are larger than their monitors. This is exactly what these Bose PC speakers have to offer. The compact set of speakers and a subwoofer makes this system a high-end speaker set for computers and not just any set of speakers that you can find in any computer store.

The dimensions of the speakers are 2.5" x 2.75" x 2.5" and they weigh 80 ounces each. The speakers also have their own stands which come with the package so you can steadily set them on your computer table or desk. The stands add a 3.5'' height to the speakers. The Acoustimass module has the dimensions of 8.5" x 6.75" x 13.75" and it weighs 14.7 pounds. Although it's heavy, it's very compact so you can easily keep it under your computer table or on a shelf beside your computer system. There's also a control pod which has the dimensions of 2.5" x 1.13", and it's very small so it's not a big consideration when you're setting up space for the system.

The color of every piece is black or very dark gray, with silver speaker grilles for both satellite speakers and Acoustimass. The control pad is also black and dark gray, and it is connected to the system by a wire. All the wires required for the system to be setup completely is in the package, so you won't have any problems with the installation. The black color of the system makes it aesthetically appealing, and it also prevents the show of weathering which is a plus to keep the speakers looking good even after several years of use.

Audio

This set of speakers and subwoofer makes the computer sound system not only remarkable, but also worth the expense. The elegant desktop speakers come fully assembled on the speaker stands for optimal performance. They also provide more usable desk space. The compact Acoustimass module is responsible for providing clean low frequencies. This makes the speakers solely responsible for the higher frequencies, and despite their small size, their performance remains perfect. The system also makes use of a trademark Bose feature, the proprietary TrueSpace stereo digital processing circuitry, which creates a wide two-channel soundstage that is engineered specifically for listening at your computer. The compression circuitry that the system is also equipped with keeps your music clear and undistorted even at high volume levels.

Other Features

The handy control pod allows you to easily access volume control and single-touch mute, and it also has a headphone jack and connection for a second audio source like an MP3 player. The magnetically shielded satellite speakers are designed to prevent monitor interference or other damage to magnetic media, so you can keep the speakers close without worries. The proprietary integrated signal processing delivers lifelike performance at almost any volume level. The active electronic equalization balances low, mid and high frequencies for a more natural tone and clarity. There are also dual inputs which let you enjoy two audio sources simultaneously - one to your computer, and the other to a portable audio device.

Conclusion

If you're looking for a good set of Bose PC speakers, this is the perfect model for you. It's excellent, high performance, and it produces great sound quality. I highly recommend the Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System for everyone out there who's looking for a fantastic speaker system for their computers.
